"This is a beautiful property to spend a few days in and I recommend it to anyone visiting the region. You also get a lovely view of Mt Taranaki from the kitchen window (weather permitting) which is so lovely. As other reviews have said, this property is luxurious and one of the cleanest accomodations I have stayed in. Wendy is an attentive host but allows space and privacy to enjoy your stay. We plan to come back again :)"

"We stayed here at the end of our trip and it was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful scenery and listen to the sounds of the surf and birds. Seth, Nuala and David all made a point of stopping by to see how we were settling in and it was lovely to read the history behind the creation of the villas. "For the price paid we were very surprised at how dated and tired the property is. As the description honestly says it is an old style bach but the smell of mold when you walk in and the standard of bathroom, walls and kitchen is not what you'd expect. The exterior is also tired and dated. The double bed is small and the mattress is old but the bed linen is nice. The accommodation guide that was left out references a tv and dishwasher but there is none. There was plenty of plates and glasses etc....

"We had a family occasion while staying at The Devon Hotel, with dinner in an adjoining room to the restaurant. The Saturday night dinner at Marbles buffet was very popular, with a broad variety of excellent food which was constantly replenished. All staff throughout the facility were extremely friendly and accommodating, even though they were very busy and we had numerous requests. Everyone enjoyed their stay and look forward to returning. Thank you to all staff."

"It was a surprising gem for my wife and I. It had exactly what you could need from a hotel and provided everything in-room that most high end hotels would have as extra...this said, be prepared for the smaller bathroom which was fine - some people seem to want a bathroom bigger than their bedroom for some reason. The rooms were well appointed and really comfortable. We only stayed a night because it was a drive through visit for a wedding BUT would definitely have been happy with a 3 day stay or more. The hosting managers were helpful and great to deal with but the PRICE was by far the catch for us, given some surrounding offerings were not as nice and more expensive. A business traveler or personal trips to regions, its just relaxing and in a central location you have everything at your disposal. We loved it. "
