"Pros: We have been here many years ago, and it’s still a great place for public outdoor hot springs for mixed gender. We went at night and there was nobody so we had the pools to ourselves! Private hot spring in the room is excellent with traditional stone construction. Excellent hot spring water temperature and soak. The hotel is a bit dated but we like its vintage facilities - giving it a cool historical vibe. Bonus is that the hotel offers free shuttle rides to and from Beitou station so you don’t have to walk. Staff is beyond excellent! Super helpful and friendly. Impeccable. They deserve 10 stars. Cons: We were not impressed by the food. We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant and it took 30 minutes for a hot dish to come out. The staff was extremely accommodating and gave us free hand rolls which we appreciated. But their kitchen needs some improvements. As for free breakfast buffet, many of the dishes were lukewarm and not hot. They should also cover cold fruits and salads since other guests were walking around and coughing. So that could be improved as well."
