"The location is excellent and the inn full of character. The staff were all lovely and breakfast well presented and very good quality . The room was clean and pleasant, but as it was overlooked by both the City Walls and the beer garden I had to keep the curtains closed. Also the industrial extractor fan for the kitchen was right outside my window so there was a continuous noise from 7.00 until late into the evening. In a way, it was a plus because it was white noise that mitigated the noise...

Whilst booking a table is definitely recommended as the venue is very popular both locally and further afield for their dishes. I can highly recommend the Old Oak Tree, I will certainly be staying there again. The Old Oak Tree is in the perfect location for exploring North Yorkshire. "

"This is a lovely country hotel, i stayed last weeknin a garden room. This week I chose a room in the Hotel itself which was great unfortunately the staff went home and left music playing in the Restaurant down below and this kept me awake ! The Management compensated me in the morning for the inconvenience which was good of them. The food was excellent and the ambience was great so I will definitely stay again ."
