"All round good experience "

"A lovely hotel where the staff were absolutely wonderful, the kids were over the moon with the biscuits the lady on reception gave us, just a little touch but it was lovely. The room was a little dated but had all we needed and was well maintained and clean which is more important than the era of furniture (think 1990s pine era). The initial lack of signage for the car park had us almost parking out the front in a car park full of pot holes but as we got out we realised the car park was round...

"Lovely room, really nice bathroom fit out. Excellent quality tea, coffee, orange juice etc in the room. Nice variety of self serve breakfast to get when you want. Room was quite loud above the pub until it closed at 11 at night. Overall lovely stay and great value. "

"Room was clean and King Size bed was comfortable. Water pressure in sink was slow until I worked out how to increase it. Full English breakfast was huge and one of the best I have had in any B & B or hotel. Located in a quiet rural village and convenient for Rutland Water."

"This is a lovely cosy B&B. The breakfast was brilliant (smoked salmon plus home made marmalade) and service excellent too. My room was very spacious, one small point - the bathroom was so hot, even though I turned off the towel rail socket the rail was still roasting. I can really recommend for business stays around Corby. I'd love to bring my wife here for a short stay to explore Rutland. "

"Stayed on a routine trip to Melton Mowbray. The White Lion was reasonably priced, warm and comfortable, with WiFi that worked well enough for me to work using Teams. The owners and their staff were friendly and helpful. The English breakfast was cooked to perfection and as it was included in the price just making it very good value. I travel every week, and it is nice to find a warm room as well as a warm welcome."
