"Overnight stay to break up a long journey to Cornwall. Great location and very pleasant surroundings. Great views over the valley. Only slight issue was our room had a double bed in whereas most nowadays have at least two singles pushed together which are a bit bigger but for what it was , I would recommend this hotel."

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Stroud Hotel. The staff were welcoming on our arrival and we enjoyed an excellent meal and well prepared cocktails at lunchtime (I can highly recommend the risotto.) There was everything we needed except milk for the room but we were given fresh milk on request which, whilst lovely, wasn’t necessary as small cartons of UHT would have been fine for our short stay. "Beautiful building and a lovely patio with tables and chairs and beautiful gardens with easy access to the footpath by the canal. There is a nice sitting room with a bar by the entrance. My room was quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a bath. The only things that weren’t so great: my room was quite dark and the wifi didn’t work at all throughout my stay."

"Had an overnight stay here recently and enjoyed it. Plenty of towels, couple of bottles of water in the fridge, good tea/coffee facilities. Shower was very good. Light sleepers may be affected by cars leaving the venue via the gravel car park and the in-room fridge switching on during the night. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection of beers to choose from and an option to have dinner there. Separate entrance/exit from the pub entrances, very useful indeed. I would stay here...
