"Zanzibar is challenging to tour and relies mostly on expensive taxis. Therefore we found it far better to stay central in the island in the fabulous Stonetown capital. The best 'traditional' hotel by a mile is the historic Tembo House Hotel. Situated on the coast with private beach, two swimming pools and views of the small coastal boats to die for.
