"The location of the property was excellent with a stunning sea view. The house was large and had everything we required. The property was listed as a non smoking residence but the porch and hallway had a distinct smell of cigarette smoke which was very off putting. But overall a very pleasant stay and a bonus was the weather."

"Stayed with my 2 dogs. Great paths all around golf course for walking them. Easy walk through houses to get to beach. House clean and location is great for day trips or walking along promenade. Would recommend."

"The property is very nice, nicely furnished and very clean. We did feel that it lacked in terms of things provided, such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, just one USED dishcloth. No welcome pack with instructions, and parking was very confusing. We unpacked the car a the rear of the house, which upset the neighbour. We parked in the nearby public car park for the duration of our stay. We were also disappointed to find out that there was no live TV channels."

"Arkle House is a bungalow which has everything we look for in a relaxing holiday let. Comfy beds, 2 bathrooms, a garden, and a well equipped kitchen. The decor completes a perfect home. The property is in a good situation with the high street about 20 minutes walk. Great for dogs. To sum up ….we found it to be perfect and are already planning our third visit."

"The property was perfect, the rooms were spotless and presented in a very professional way. The kitchen was a great size with a breakfast bar for dining and the toilet/shower room was of a very high standard. The location was great and access to the town and beach was less than a couple of minutes walk, there is a parking space within the confines of the property and ample outdoor dining space if needed. "Just a one night stopover for me and my dog on our way further north. Easily accessible a short distance off the A1, but seems worlds away in a peaceful woodland setting with great views and traffic -free doorstep access to disused railway path/cycle route, fields, river and woodland country park. Excellent for dogs! Carriage No. 1 is really lovely, with loads of character, thoughtfully designed in a simple rustic style and well kitted-out in a small but uncramped space, and with its own...

"Very well equipped accommodation. Great base for exploring the area. Beamish museum very close and well worth a visit. Also close enough to visit Newcastle, can get metro so don't have to drive in, Hadrians wall, Derwent water. Lot of places to visit. Good location if doing Great North Run."
