"Lovely little b&b.. spotlessly clean throughout the building, welcoming, close to the centre, the lady who runs it is absolutely lovely, friendly, helpful, chatty, and the breakfast was beautiful. "Last minute booking and what a great little find. Room was spacious and beds comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Shower was pretty low pressure but got us all clean and in all we had a great stay. Location is brilliant, 10 mins walk to the beach and 15/20 mins walk into Whitby centre. Only downside is no breakfast available but plenty of places in Whitby for this. "

"We had a lovely room on the top floor. This is up 6 small flights of stairs so not for those with mobility issues or heavy cases! The Helainia is convenient for the cricket ground and serves a nice breakfast. Our only quibble was having one small bar of soap for both hand washing and use in the shower during our stay (we were told toiletries were not replenished). "My top floor room with dormer window had great views out to sea - the payoff being 73 internal stairs in addition to the dozen from street level! I'd previously stayed at this property so was aware of the stairs and the property owner Emma also messaged me at the time of booking to check that there were no mobility issues. After a minor issue around check-in times, I was able to quickly settle in and found my room to be clean and comfortable with good quality bedding and a generous refreshments...

It is ideally situated just off the Cleveland Way to walk into Whitby, a flat walk approx 45-50 minutes or to Robin Hoods Bay a more undulating walk approx 2.5 hours, both with fantastic views.
