"Pretty location. Pleasant stay in a nice room in the annexe. Good breakfast and decent food in the evening. The only issue really is access. It's in the middle of nowhere with steep narrow single track roads that are pretty treacherous and stressful in the dark and bad weasther."

"Room was small but very tidy, it had everything we needed. Bed wasn’t the comfiest but ok for one night. The view was amazing, high over other houses the countryside stretched for miles. Don’t book if you don’t like heights. "The place is under new management who offered a warm welcome, a clean room, done up the place as best they could. The place still has a few issues from being taken over eg shower not draining well and a new mattress due but the new team are trying hard to make a go of it and are trying to make good."

"The person that met me seemed very disinterested. The room they gave me didn't match the pictures on Hotels.com. It was tiny, I wouldn't have booked it if the pictures had shown the correct room. "The hotel is fairly new and therefore really modern and clean. There is a spa on site which is ideal after a days walking. The free shuttle bus into the heart of Salcombe is a great idea as the walk does involve a few steep hills although this is how we travelled into Salcombe most days. The hotel is right on the beach and is in a very quiet location. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. If like us you come here in the winter and you want to walk in and out of Salcombe then remember to take a torch with you as it is pitch black and a mobile may not be sufficient."
