"À hidden gem of a hotel in Kyoto. I always stay here when I return to Kyoto. A beautiful, well-appointed entrance, and as you pass through the door… fragrances and music that inspired Zen, a modern, uncluttered decor with a beautiful marriage of wood in contemporary architecture, a small bakery in the entrance area where the you can buy a variety of breads baked on site and a courteous welcome as we are used to in Japan. It is obvious that the design team had all their talent and heart at work. The attention to detail to create a near-perfect atmosphere for all the senses…yes, all the senses…was very evident. From the fragrances of the soaps, to the faucets in the shower, the creative work was evident there. The well-equipped restaurant for dinner and my best breakfast in a hotel to date, the bread bar filled with products cooked on site. In addition, a roof terrace on the 6th floor with bar, sofas, heaters and warm blankets in the evening when the temperature was approaching zero. "

"Overall good. Only complaints are that our Superior Room was not at all sound proof as it advertises; you can hear very clearly what is outside and what is inside. Also, bathroom shower curtains smelled like mold. Otherwise, everything was great especially the food for breakfast and dinner (dinner also costs about 100 USD and isn’t with any package, but was very fancy)"

"Clean hotel. Looked new. If not new still looked new. I liked the ability to store luggage under the bed. Easy area to navigate. Not much in nightlife though, if you’re into that. Great for kicking off day trips due to location of hotel to station"

"Very very convenient for a quick overnight stay in Kyoto. We had the family room (4 beds), which was spacious with a nice tv and sitting area. Bathroom was very nice as well. Staff were very friendly and the lounge area for guests was a nice touch."
