"We usually rent right near our relatives closer to Newcastle, but there was a problem with heat in property so we needed a new rental to move into and “Otterly getaway” was willing to rent to us the day before they technically were available which was good for us. "We only had a couple of hiccups with the heat upon arrival and a small electrical issue, but the host communicated quickly and all was resolved without further inconvenience to our family. Clean. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Overall we had a great stay, would stay again, and recommend to others! "

There are plenty of supplies available, the property manager and owners make sure everything is onsite and plentiful. Excellent communication with the property manager, with timely responses. The beds were comfortable, plenty of pillows and extra blankets. The space in the basement was lovely. We did have to be mindful of the water pressure so someone could shower 1 at a time. But overall, this was a beautiful home away from home"

"We had a fantastic four day stay to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday and my parent's 61st wedding anniversary! Damariscotta Lake holds a special place in our family's hearts as we had a cabin nearby for nearly 30 years. The quiet location on the cove is spectacular and the cabin itself is adorable! Plenty of room for three couples and a teenager! The cabin was well stocked with basic supplies, sheets/towels, cookware, smart tv and internet to make everyone feel at home. "I can't explain the ease and how helpful the host was. We were traveling from a long distance for this. The host was helpful with late check in. The house was well maintained and clean everywhere. You get everything you need. The wifi is also fast. I wish they did provide some body wash and some extra stuff. No complaints at all. It was a memorable stay"

Great place to stay

"We had a death in the family that required us to be in Augusta for two days. Instead of traveling back and forth we chose to stay. We wanted a hotel with a pool the children could enjoy. This was a perfect place to stay, the price was reasonable and was close to where we needed to be. We were also able to check in early which was extremely helpful. "

"My wife and I booked a room here for our anniversary and we couldn't have been more pleased with our service. The room was amazing with the giant Jacuzzi tub. The complimentary breakfast was the absolute best. It was a shame I was not able to finish it. We loved the kitties that roamed around and let's us cuddle! We will most definitely be back sometime."

Arrived late after a long drive

"I traveled from 5hrs south to attend a funeral service the following morning and arrived after 11pm. The instructions were clear and easy to retrieve the key for the room. I never saw one person since I left fairly early around 8:30am. There wasn’t much for breakfast but I didn’t expect much since it’s probably their off season and it didn’t seem there were many people at the hotel. The only complaint I had was that the room was so incredibly cold maybe 30 to 40° No heat was turned on. There were two monitor heaters in the room and it took a while to warm up so I sat in my vehicle for about 20minutes while I waited. By morning it was cozy and warm. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows were very very comfortable! I would definitely stay again but I’d call ahead to make sure someone turned the heat on…even just at 60 or 65° would be acceptable. "
