"Its a decent resort style hotel in the Oasis chain. Not particularly close to anything, but thats fine when all you want to do is relax by the pool. There is no beach - beach in Praia is blah, better to go to Sal or Boa Vista for quality beaches. Room was correct, nice balcony overlooking the water and view on Fogo volcano, which was neat! AC worked well, wifi was sometimes spotty but ok in general. Good towels. Front desk staff were helpful and responded to a request to fix the sink to drain...

"Excellently positioned on Praia Plateau, which is full of history and culture. The Santa Maria has friendly, cheerful, Caboverdean staff and is comfortable, clean and caring. Buffet breakfast is delicious and it has a lift. The only minor problem is it’s sometimes hard to get on the WiFi."

"It was amazing, my room was pretty big, shared bath room, but it was very clean. Great location, close to the beach. For the plateau you have to walk around 20 - 30mins. The street is very loud, but during the night there's not a lot of traffic. It was a very pleasant stay."

"Very nice place to enjoy peace and comfort. The pool is cool, and there’s a more or less private beach. Swimming there is not encouraged, but perfectly possible if you take good care not to go in to far. Staff is super friendly and cooperative. Restaurant is above the average we experienced on CV. Centre of town only 200 escudos away. Great place. Recommend it."
