"This is a simple business type hotel. When we checked in there was a long line and the front desk person didn’t even talk to you when you checked in. He waved you forward with your fingers as he was arguing on the phone with somebody about a bill. Not exactly a warm, hospitable greeting. The room itself was fine. Clean with good beds. If you’re looking for a warm shower in a good bed, this hotel would suffice. I would, however, expect a much more appropriate greeting from the staff."

"The Maritim is a very nice hotel that is well located in Darmstadt. Transportation is easy to and from it because it's near the main train station and a substantial taxi stand. The workers at the hotel have always been kind and helpful to me and I've appreciated them many times. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the selection of pillows is ample. "Super king size bed was amazing but the pillows are disappointingly soft and not comfortable. The duvets are too small and they don’t have double duvets. The room and communal areas are spotless but the staff are unfriendly, if you can find them, lol. Very modern design with state of art heating and cooling system, second to none, very impressive. "Property is new and trendy with food. The parking garage was full so we had to find our own parking. Staff gave us recommendations on where to park. We are a family of 4 and slept in tje bunkbed room. It was small but comfortable for 1 night before we flew out the next day."

"Communication with the staff is only by a supposed iPad in the room. We did not have one so we had to go to the front desk if we needed anything. The hotel was lovely and the breakfast was one of the very best that I’ve experienced. It was close to the train station which made our day trips very easy. We loved the “best western” theme of the hotel.."

"I liked the hotel very much, but the property certainly needs an update. The decor is fine, just rundown. What a beautiful bar, but the wood is chipped and stained. The room was spacious but the furniture was dated. I’ll still visit again, but these superficial things are what keeps this hotel from achieving greater status in my book."
