I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you need to be near Milano Centrale train station, but even if you just want to be near the centre as it’s a half an hour walk or a very short, direct metro ride."

"This is a great little boutique hotel, but a little hard to find. It is basically one floor of a commercial center that was turned into very nice and clean hotel rooms. One negative, they claimed to have laundry, facilities, and service. But they have neither. At best, they give you a phone number to a place about a half a mile away that you can drop your laundry off at. "

It was a bit noisy and the biggest fault for me was no bedding on the duvet, so that made me feel a bit uncomfortable. "The hotel/guesthouse is easily reached from the centre of Milan by metro followed by a short walk (past a nice bakery). Il Girasole looks unconventional, being a converted factory building. A nice courtyard is hidden behind a metal entrance door. Matteo and his brother are extremely nice hosts, who can provide enthusiastic advice on sightseeing in Milan. Our room was one of the two behind the courtyard which, unfortunately, the WiFi signal from the main building didn't reach - but was fine if...
