"We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"We had a very comfortable 8-night stay. It’s set in a very quite village with beautiful views of Wensleydale, exactly what we wanted. It was clean, had a good shower and equipped with everything we needed, including some kids toys and dvd’s which came in handy. The owner was very responsive and accommodating with our questions and asks. Would happily stay again."

"Good location, cozy, well-equipped. Decent parking nearby. No noise from neighbours. 15 minute stroll to Hawes High Street. Limited space outdoors so no space for children to play outside. Easily accommodated 6 adults and 2 children."

"An ideal quiet location with access to Penrith and the Lakes. Well appointed modern property, private parking. Host could not have been more friendly and helpfull. We did have a couple of issues with the Verbo discription verse actual facilities- however host was quick to sort out and offered us alternative very close by. Thanks for that. All in all we had a great stay and would not hesitate to book again next time we visit the lakes."

"We loved our stay and were delighted with the property, a stunning barn conversion in a pretty village - three large en-suite bedrooms with comfy beds and double height living area, tastefully furnished, well equipped kitchen and a beautiful well-kept garden. Clear communication with hosts before and during our stay, they provided helpful information about the surrounding area and the welcome pack was much appreciated."

"Hired the main house + three cottages for a group 40th birthday party in mid Aug-22. As long as you understand that your little away from the main Lake District location, then this place is perfect. House / cottages were all kitted out with modern appliances, had a good number of ensuite bedrooms and were all spotlessly clean. I was initially a little skeptical about hiring a number of separate cottages (rather than another location with one big house) but it actually worked much better....

"Brookside Cottage was a great place to stay, wonderful location, very clean and spacious, all the amenities of home."

"Booked for my husband's 60th. Accommodated the eight of us and the dog beautifully. Each couple had their own bathroom although the one by the front door was not ensuite but this was not a problem for us.The sofa is huge and we were all able it sit/stretchout comfortably. The townhouse is fitted out to a high standard and is well equipped. The staff were extremely helpful and sorted an issue with the sky box straight away. Lisa in particular went the extra mile, answering questions and providing...

"Bathrooms and bedrooms great, kitchen not great but adequate, dining room good with plenty of mats for the table, sitting room ok but furniture a bit shabby, utility room good with good quality white goods. Garden not good for children of all ages really, nowhere to kick a ball and so steep we couldn’t let the little ones play at all outside, not that we had the weather to do that anyway!! All in all a good house but could be better. "
