Needs to update to a decent coffee machine if the sign outside says ‘coffee house’. Only filter served and not very nice. Some really lovely, friendly staff. Would definitely come back. 9/10"

"I expected to be able to have a meal as the details indicated a restaurant but there was no evening food available. As they had few guests they also closed the bar at 7.30 pm. Odd as when I booked it indicated that there was limited availability. The hotel is pretty basic. The room was clean though and decent breakfast. This has slightly dented my trust in the accuracy of details provided on Expedia. I had been travelling around the north of England and this was the least value for money."

"This was our second stay at the Moorcock and we will definitely be back. The owners and staff are really friendly . The room was clean and had a great view out the front . We ate in the pub every night and the food was great . Had a lovely steak and chips and a good roast dinner . My partner had a burger one night and it was massive and tasty. All the food was piping hot. The views from the pub garden are wonderful . Don't hesitate to book at this property . "

"The property was very much as described. The lounge, with it's oak panelling and bay window was a delight to spend time in, the addition of the bookcase door was a real novelty. "We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby.
