"If you are searching for total isolation, this villa is right up your alley. There are no taxi services and no restaurants other than the villa’s which has limited meal options. The villa is located in a farming and very poor part of Bali. The flies are constant which makes sitting outside uncomfortable. For meals, we ate in our room so as to elude them. We had three nights booked but only stayed for two."

"Very friendly helpful staff. The grounds and casitas are nice and the views of the lake and volcano are really nice. Of course, the flies are incessant in the morning. They seem to fade away in the afternoon and evening. The hotel is a short drive to the start of Mt Batur hike and you can hire a guide at this hotel. Highly recommend the hike. "The Lovina didn’t disappoint. It was clean, relaxing and beautiful. We spent 3N4D and wished we had stayed longer. So luxurious. The staff can’t do enough for you. The free shuttle was a nice surprise. So were the free bike rentals. The buffet breakfast was delicious. We had a room that over looked the rice fields and I loved it. Coffee in the morning on our patio looking at rice fields and mountains. Life is good. The only reason I gave a 4 to surrounding area was because there are 3 VERY aggressive female beach sellers. They are not aggressive as in threatening, however, they will not leave you alone when you are sitting on the beach or sitting at the tables near the beach. They will harass you and won’t take no for an answer. I felt that the hotel staff should have asked them to leave and wait at the edge of resort so hotel patrons can approach them if they want. They would interrupt our lunch and when sitting having a drink looking at the ocean. It did put a bit of a damper on our experience. Over all I would encourage you to book this hotel. The staff and facilities were spectacular "

"As a solo traveler I often find larger resorts can be/feel quite isolated - Bambootel made every effort to make me feel welcome, couldn't do enough for me and very often we're happy to stand and have a conversation about my day etc... all the staff were fun, I'm very often quite inquisitive about my life rather than me asking questions about theirs all the time... 10 out of 10 for hospitality, couldn't have asked for a better service."
