"If you wish to visit Canterbury, the Lodge provides an incredibly convenient and quite comfortable place to stay. For those outside the main Lodge, the stairs may prove problematic for some, particularly those with extensive luggage or mobility issues. That notwithstanding, the access to the Cathedral grounds was lovely, and we would happily stay at the Lodge again."

"Great location, attached to fab restaurant so breakfast was delish but best of all I left my jacket in the room and Leon the manager called not long after we left and arranged postage. We left Saturday I had my jacket back Tuesday. A1 service. "

"Beautiful old building but run down. Cold water not connected to shower and hot water not connected to sink. Needs a thorough cleaning. Carpet needs replacing. No one on duty at front desk. Manager is doing the best he can, very polite and kind. "

"They moved our time earlier on the ferries so we had to ditch one night in london so i booked this one on the photos and omg i should have run when another lady came out saying it was ok they didnt need it. I had a choice and picked the top floor. My hairs in my nose were burning . Toilet was sitting at a 45 degree angle and ask my hubby not to sit . I think i sleep 2 hrs all night. "We are a group of 8 ladies enjoying a weekend away and we had a wonderful weekend at Downs Cottage. The property was perfect… comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor, superb location, sauna was a bonus and the garden was very pretty. Deal itself was a very welcoming town, friendly people.
