"For my wife and me, this trip was a sort of honeymoon since we had just gotten married a month ago. After a year and a half of challenges and a super busy life, we were eager to disconnect from the entire world, relax and recharge at Natura Cottages. I'm happy to say that our experience exceeded our expectations, we couldn't be more satisfied with our stay. The cottage was exactly as pictured, and we instantly fell in love with the place. It’s evident that the owners of Natura Cottages love their properties, as every detail was thoughtfully attended to. Our cottage beautifully combined coziness with traditional Greek style. We especially enjoyed the small private garden where we had breakfast each morning in the shade before heading out to explore a new beach. At night, we returned to a perfect silence, broken only by the sounds of crickets. Yet, we were just a five-minute drive from the town of Makri Gialos, with its seaside bars and restaurants. This part of the island is wonderfully natural and less touristy, perfect if you want to run away from the madness of the modern world! We explored several beaches by car, some recommended by Natura Cottages’ website and others I found through my own research. We were particularly enchanted by Paralia Goudouras, a peaceful spot with crystal-clear water. It has been a very positive experience and we really recommend this cottage!"

"Our second stay here and it was just as good as the first time. Spacious and well equipped. Air conditioning kept it comfortable at night. Brilliant pool just a few metres away and with the beach and village just a few minutes walk everything you need is within easy access. We had a small water leak in the bathroom but 30 minutes after reporting it a member of staff arrived and it was quickly fixed. We were expecting a clean at the end of the first week. It wasn’t a big deal and we could have chased it up."

"A lovely place, situated conveniently close to beaches, various restaurants, local shops and a 'mini'market'. Free parking is available uncovered or covered. None of the properties around the 20m x 10m pool look at each other, increasing your privacy. The only downside was the management dealing with problems etc. We advised them that the TV was not working. They said that that they would arrange for an engineer to come out, but nobody came."

"A lovely property overlooking Makrigialos Bay! Balcony was perfect for breakfasts, lunches and family time after our evening meal in a wide variety of tavernas across the area. The pool is perfect for a gentle swim or family games and the enclosed jacuzzi at one end added to the relaxing experience. Eleni, our host, could not have been more helpful. She provided a fabulous welcome package and detailed information about the area. Through chatting with her we were able to choose a variety of beaches to visit. We loved Staoysa beach, rocky but great for snorkelling and its idyllic taverna at the top - Oasis. The food is fresh, authentic and the setting is beautiful and all the better for being away from the more touristy tavernas we visited in Makrigialos. We would definitely recommend a visit to Chrissi Island, on a smaller boat to get the full experience, and a trip to Xerokampos with its stunning sandy beach, on the east side of the island. Also, a trip up the mountain along a windy road to the taverna in Pethki is not one to miss! A car is essential to enable you to fully experience this beautiful part of Crete. We decided against the 24 minute walk to the local beach (much longer coming back we decided) and instead we explored by car - resulting in a far richer and more enjoyable holiday experience !"
