"Our accommodations were lovely. Enjoyed the spa experience. Nice breakfast too. Located in Sassi halfway between the top and the bottom of the hill. I would estimate 100 steps either up or down. Be aware in order to have dinner or sightsee you must go up or down! You also have to carry your luggage. Would not recommend for anyone with bad knees. You can do a tuk tuk tour of Sassi instead and stay on top. It is a lovely town."

"The Quarry Resort exceeded all our expectations. From the minute we parked our rental car at an offsite location we were quickly driven to the hotel. Porters took our luggage down cobblestone streets and stairs to the hotel. The location of the hotel is a wow moment. The setting amongst the Sassi is one of a kind. Check in was very quick and we were shown to our beautiful room. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was the best I’ve ever...

"This is an EXCELLENT place to stay and enjoy Matera. The rooms are big, very comfortable, modern, and convenient to walk around beautiful Matera. The bathroom is big and the toilet is in a separate room than the shower and the lavatory. The staff is very helpful and very cordial. They helped us with every request we had. "This is a property in the Sasso Caveoso in Matera, the most incredible and one of the most ancient places on earth. The views of the Sassi and the caves are incredible and the room carved in the rock was spacious and comfortable. I would have added a TV close to the bed and a second sink in the bathroom but altogether the place is great. Very good service ans evryone is superfriendly and helpful. Also great the breakfastr buffet"
