"This is the ideal place to experience the Douro. The house was very lovely with everything we needed. It’s perfect for a family visit! It was a bit chilly for the pool but it would be nice to use in the summer for sure! Our gracious host was very attentive and provided everything we needed."

"We spent a wonderful week in this lovely villa in August. Very well equipped and comfortable, and in a great location to explore the area - but note the roads are very windy and hilly so it can take a while to get places! The swimming pool is great with a fantastic view, and we enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the river. The owner Maria gave us some good tips on places to visit and made us very welcome. Thank you for your hospitality :)"

"We stayed for 3 nights. Beautiful old house, view of water below was so lovely. Enjoyed the pool but it was a little late in the year so it was just a little cold for us at our age. "Everything was as advertised ,clean and functional. The host went out of her way to make sure that my experience was first class and it was. "Fernado & Amelia were very welcoming and had generously left a welcome gift pack. We were given lots of information about services & things to do in the area. The outdoor living space with bbq & outdoor sink and plenty of charcoal together with the pool greatly enhanced our stay in early July. The only downside was there was no airconditioning (our error not noticing when booking) as in the 1st week temperatures were up to 40 degrees but fans were provided. A lovely peaceful setting."
