"Had never been to Madeira before but I think Funchal is a great base. The house is tucked away in a residential area with lovely gardens and ocean views. Lots of space for four adults (and probably more), though more than 2 couples wouldn't each have a bathroom, the third one on the main floor, while handy, is just a toilet and washbasin. "Vi ankom til et hus uden vand. Vi måtte hente vand i poolen for at bruge toiletterne. Først 12 timer senere blev der tændt for vandet. Poolen var i stykker og i 5 dage kunne vi ikke bade, da der ikke var cirkulation og der var grønt vand og snavs. Poolen blev aldrig opvarmet, selvom vi bad om det og havde valgt huset pga. opvarmet pool. Aftaler med manageren blev ikke overholdt. Gentagende gange kom han ikke som aftalt. Vores børn fik ikke den ferie vi ønskede at give dem. Vi ønsker pengene...

"A well located luxurious property which makes for an excellent base for exploring the island. Most of the best sights are a short drive away. Good communication from start to finish from the agent who met us at the villa to show us how everything worked even though it was late at night. Bedrooms spacious and beds comfortable. "The house was perfectly clean and well equipped. The top of the house is the nice terrace. The kitchen is practically outside but I didn't find it a problem considering weather conditions. We regret rooms were small. We never met the owner but the property manager was very nice."

"Sadly, this property is in need of some love and attention, and a proper deep clean. It also smelt damp and musty. As mentioned on a previous review, the beds are very hard and would benefit from mattress toppers. On the plus side, the communication from the manager was excellent, it has great outside space, good rooms sizes and was one of the quieter homes we have rented in Funchal."
