"We spent the New Year on Bute and the was in the perfect location not only for its views over the Firth, but also for exploring the rest of the island. It did feel a little chilly on arrival, but with the clear instructions we were soon able to get it feeling nice and warm. We had to extend our visit for another night as we didn't realise the ferries didn't run on Bank Holiday, but this was not a problem - for Campbell or for us!! "The cottage is cosy, clean and very inviting. Shiskine is a wonderful place to stay, quiet and very appealing. It's very close to Blackwaterfoot, which is beautiful. The Kinloch Hotel does marvellous meals (takeaways too). What really makes the stay worthwhile is the landlady, Jan.
