"We rented the property for our mothers 70th birthday. 6 adults 4 kids ranging from 5 to 11. Basically everything that could have gone wrong did (planned area wide power outage for 1 day, unplanned area wide water outage for part of day, 5 year old ran through a sliding glass door) and even wjth all of that it was one of the best vacations any of us have had. The listing is even better than the pictures. The chef/caretakers Alex and Jenny are truly amazing and were able to troubleshoot all issues even though they werent the fault of the property. Location was perfect. Alex recommended a few local excursions such as horsebackriding that were amazing. Once in a lifetime experience. "

"Rancho Humo was perfect for us: comfortable and peaceful accommodations on the grounds of a working ranch with a nature preserve, so I experienced Costa Rica without feeling like a tourist...even if of course we did take tours, with Kenneth pointing out birds, monkeys, crocodiles, green iguanas (Ticos probably think I'm funny to be excited about iguanas), and even a very cute couple of Pacific screech owls peeping down at us from a tree right outside the front door which I would not have noticed on my own. I was born in Maryland but I never saw a Baltimore oriole before I was here! The staff were very welcoming, Ticos are lovely people."

"This is a great property with everything we needed. It is a secluded location so the roads are a little challenging but once you are there, it is just wonderful. We enjoyed the pool, the magnificent views and even seeing wildlife ( monkeys and red macaws) from the villa. Access to the beach, bar and restaurants within walking distance. Lizbeth is a great cook and she made our stay even more enjoyable and worry free. "

"I never wanted to leave! With the beautiful yard, the beach, the tide pools and Cheyo and his wonderful dogs, Sand Dollar Cove was heavenly! We wanted to stay somewhere away from the crowds where we could relax and enjoy the outdoors, and we did! The birds and howler monkeys were plentiful. Elizabeth and Jim were excellent hosts and quick to answer my questions. I’m already scheming to go back. Thank you so much, Elizabeth and Jim, for sharing your magical place."

"We were only passing through for a night but this place was amazing! Vincent was super helpful with restaurant suggestions and there were a few great places within a 5 minute walking distance. The shower was huge and had hanging plants. very comfortable bed, and great pool...will definitely stay here again"

"Had a very quiet relaxing stay. More like a BnB. Spectacular sunsets next to a beautiful infinity pool. A bit remote but that is part of the charm. Terrible roads to get there as most rural CR roads area but worth the trouble. Would stay again! "
