"The Occidental Tamarindo is one of a handful of All Inclusives in Costa Rica. Keep in mind if you’re looking for a Mexican Style “let’s get wasted resort” this is not what you’re looking for. The pace is relaxed and the food at the buffets is local style. If you want steak It’s good but it’s also Not tender like American/Canadian beef. They rate the resort 4/5 stars, really what you have are rooms that would be 3’s, they are ample size comfortable and clean but they were never finished with that 5star building quality to warrant 5 stars. The service is friendly and upbeat, but also laid back. The pool is excellent as is the beach area. Great tours depart from the area and it’s a wonderful place for a great family vacation or couples trip "

"Great little chill oasis in the midst of Tamarindo. Was great to sit next to pool in the evening and have live music with beach bar vibes. Rooms are very basic, but common area really nice and location could not be better."
