"This property overall is amazing!! The staff were amazing in communication and helping with excursions. We were not prepared for the entire property living areas to be outside. The only thing inside is the bedrooms. The living areas are all screened in. Also, be prepared to navigate many many many bugs. It’s Costa Rica so that’s kind of expected but it’s a bit difficult to manage at times. The AC works amazing in the bedrooms! COLD!!!!!!"

"Location was very difficult to find. The code provided to us was wrong. Did not get responses from the host and timely manners. AC unit in the bedroom didn’t work. Gardener was there too early in the morning being loud. The refrigerator was not working for the first 24 hours."

"We had the best stay in this house. Truly, it was even more amazing than the pictures. I love that all bedrooms had their own bathrooms attached--it was perfect for sharing with another family. "The house and property were great for our group as there is a lot of room for everyone to do their own thing. The views and quiet were amazing! So many birds! The property was fun to explore and we enjoyed starfruit and bananas we picked ourselves.The road to the house can be challenging for someone new to driving up a mountain. "We have stayed here in the past and enjoyed these accommodations. We had a few issues with the fridge leaking but the property manager solved them efficiently. We all enjoyed the pool as it was hot and humid making the pool very welcome. Also a short walk to a waterfall and natural pool for cooling off. "Super responsive host, most beautiful views, property well cared for with fantastic landscaping. Highly recommend this VRBO. Would suggest coming with snacks or meals. We would go out for the day and come back but you won’t want to come up and down that mountain at night so we had food with us. The thermal pools are a great suggestion. Loved it. "

"The greatest view ever. 180 of the ocean. We watch the sun rise over the mountains and the sun sink into the sea. Grounds are outstanding. Even has a pickle ball court"

"House was perfect for myself and kids for the Dominical portion of our trip in Costa Rica. Pool was great in the evenings with how early it gets dark. The view and quiet are well worth the drive away from beach area. The listing is accurate that you will need 4x4. Easy drive but the wrong by vehicle won’t make it. Use the location in the welcome kit as the location in the app isn’t accurate. "

"The property is beautiful, full of tropical plants and flowers. The gazebo was a great hangout to keep cool. The area is full of wildlife and birds and the beach goes on for miles. The beach is just a short walk from the property. Ron and Gisel were wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return. "

"We have stayed at Steve’s and Nancy’s for two weeks and experienced their hospitality, friendliness and such a warmth. Loved the place : super comfortable, very private yet close enough to know the host is there when you need them. Steve and his helper rescued us from a very daring car trouble for which we were so grateful. We enjoyed the tranquility and spectacular views, jacuzzi on the huge terrace was awesome. We will go back next year."

"We loved the nature around Trogon Lodge. The landscaping was amazing, and my son loved watching the trout in the pond. We loved all the birds and the hiking trails. The grounds of Trogon Lodge were so lush and beautiful, and photos cannot capture their enchanting beauty. For people with mobility issues, be aware that the lodge is a steep slope and could be difficult for some. Also, it is advisable to pack wisely so you don't bring unnecessary luggage up to the room, as it is a trek carrying it. "
