"First and foremost, the staff were absolutely fantastic!!! They were ALL so friendly, funny and accommodating. They made the stay so enjoyable. The resort boasts 5 restaurants but based on hotel occupancy they are not all open each night. It does make business sense and I get it. I was just surprised by this when we got there. You need to make reservations each day for where you want to dine that night (based on what restaurants are open). You need to do this first thing in the morning or you may not get into your preferred restaurant for that night. For the most part, the food was very good to excellent. Our favorites were the Asian and Italian restaurants. They seemed to be most guests favorites. Laundry seemed to be an issue every day. We were never given a full compliment of towels each day and often had to go to the front desk to ask for hand towels and wash clothes. The beach was really nice but it's not a "sugar sand" beach. When the tide is out you have around 150 (or more) yards of hard-pack sand that is great for beach walking or running. It's a nice walk into Samara on the beach - about 1.5 miles and takes about 25-30 minutes. Some good tourist shopping and beach bars there. There are also several surfing schools there if you want to try that. The waves are great to learn on. We could not believe how warm the water was in the ocean (March). I've never felt the ocean that warm before. We were very happy there! "

"Residencias Samara is an oasis within the oasis of Samara. From the friendly staff to the comfortable rooms, Residencias Samara was the perfect homebase for the Samara leg of our honeymoon. We found it to be wonderfully relaxing and well situated within town and close to the beach. We spent a significant portion of our time enjoying the pool when not at the beach or the great restaurants nearby. We would definitely pick Residencias Samara again on a return trip in the future. "

"Property was beautiful "

"Very convenient for the beach, a very short walk to a nice restaurant (Hotel Restaurant Bahia) and close by the town of Samara. Easy walk along the beach during the dry season. Not much english spoken but communication was not a problem. Was able to upgrade to an air conditioned room which was essential due to 33*C and high humidity. Grounds and area very well kept with flowers and trees and a large resident Iguana. Pool and jacuzzi clean and pleasant."

"Loved our check in attendant. She walked us to our room, taught us everything we needed to know. Pleasant, charming, fun … put the four of us in a positive mood. "

"We were welcomed with refreshing juice drinks, helpful staff, helpful information about the property, shuttle to beach, pick up and drop off times. Beautiful restaurant and great attentive staff."

"Close to the beach "

"Pros: Stunning views. Private. Peaceful. Solid internet. Good communications with owner and property manager. Great pool. Upstairs suite was perfect. The locals were GREAT. Down to earth and helpful.Cons: Should have minimum necessaries for first night such as bars of soap in the bathroom and one roll of paper towels for kitchen. Owner should consider upgrading his fumigation program to mitigate swarming ants and to seal all areas where other unwanted critters enter the house.Observation: It was a 1 hour bumpy ride to the house from the primary route and the house is somewhat remote. This can be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. BUT I would stay there again under the right circumstances because the owner is a man of his word and is very responsive."
