"Nice modern hotel within easy walking distance to train or bus station. A shuttle bus is also available. Foyer was attractive and we were shown to our room and luggage was carried by staff. We had an executive double room which was a bit small. If we stay again we would get a twin room which are much bigger. Buffet breakfast was superb."

"The room is clean and staffs are friendly and helpful, but the room should have proper light fixtures in the corner of room, and small tables for extra luggages, otherwise this is very good value to stay while in Karuizawa."

"HOSHINOYA resort is a great place for relaxation. The environment filled with natural forest and maple trees. The service was exceptional. However, there were mosquitoes problem possibly harvested by the pond in the property. Hopefully the hotel can find solution to help with this problem. Otherwise, this resort is beautiful, quiet, and comfortable. "

"Very accessible from Matsumoto Station. The hotel was very clean. I especially appreciated the cleaning after 3 nights of stay to be sustainable. The towel bags was a nice feature so we were able to carry the towels to the bath. Breakfast was delicious. There were so many options ranging from Japanese to western. There was something for everyone to eat. The hotel had nice little perks. When we stayed, there was happy hour (free alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and evening snack in the dining hall. "

"Excellent hotel on a budget. Room is clean and size is just nice for Japan standard. Check in and check out were very fast with machine. Breakfast was mainly Japanese food. Toiletries and tea powder were placed in the lobby for self service. Good Japanese system but must get used to it. Overall, it is an excellent hotel. "
