"On arrival we couldn't have been more impressed! Totally stunning. Beautiful and imposing with lots of trees and outdoor space. The large fireplaces, the well equipped kitchen, the grand windows and the opulent bathrooms. We were very pleased to have been shown to our grand bedroom with a four poster bed. "This is a really lovely, if very quiet place to stay. Many of the restaurants in the region closed in the pandemic so be prepared to cook! Some things in the apartment don't work quite right and the hosts are not very forthcoming with help- but equally they are not intrusive and none of the little problems spoiled our stay."

Exceptionally good shower, very clean, good washing facilities and outside space. Kitchen well kitted out. Cons…..tourist information very out of date and only in French. Heating boiler did not adequately heat house, on chilly evenings….we were firmly advised not to touch or alter settings…and apparently it was necessary for the owner to enter house to check on regular...

"This cottage was selected to provide a characterful property in the countryside where our extended family could come and have a clan gathering. Aided by faultless weather the cottage met our every need. So much so that we didn't do as much travelling in the area as we thought we might because we were quite happy at the cottage and it's environs. Geoff was a great host too - making sure that things were OK along the way. Can't speak too highly of "Le Hannelais""
