"We were two couples touring cape breton; the Collingwood villa was a great place to regroup and rest for 2 days ; place had amazing pristine beach and beautiful sunsets; great spot to visit the local attractions in Mabou and Port Hood . Definitely a must stay if your in the area ; and a bonus wss thw 10 /lbs lobster down tje road "

"The place is good, and we had a good time in the area. The place is not right on the beach--it is about a 200 meter walk through the woods. The house is pretty remote, which can be a good thing, but every place we wanted to visit is at least an hour drive away. We did a lot of driving and spent a lot on gas. We wish we had stayed in Baddeck."

"This property was exactly what we were looking for. Stunning views and far away from the hustle of city life. The house was quaint and enough room for seven of us. There is no central air conditioning, just a heat pump on the first floor but opening the windows to the ocean air as Todd suggested was more than sufficient to cool the rooms down in the night. "Nice log cottage sitting on Diana Mountain with a nice view of Bras d’Or Lake. The night skys are fantastic. The cottage is secluded. It is about a 35 minute drive to the nearest store of any kind so if you want to get away from everything it is perfect. Stock up before you go. The cottage has high speed internet and good cell phone reception to keep you in touch with the outside world. If you are planning on taking in a lot of the sights of Cape Breton Island then plan on a lot of driving."

"This is a great house, with tons of space. Ample indoor dining and living space was augmented by a pleasant yard. Easy to find, within walking distance of a grocery and coffee stand, across from the famed Red Shoe, this was also a good homebase for visits to west coast beaches (and sunsets) the national park and other island attractions. Host is kind and friendly, as were the neighbors. All in all - a wonderful experience. I hope we can return some day."

The plumbing had a few issues but it delivered hot water no problem. The kitchen is the front entry so a bit crowded. Still, we had a great stay. "I have been to the Maritime Inn before and once again have thoroughy enjoyed my visit. Unfortunately I wasn't able to use the gym or pool as it was a quick visit but the Check In was great, the staff member was very pleasant and efficient. My room was very comfortable, clean and well furnished. The proximity to shopping and dining choices is excellent. Next time I'm making a weekend of it!"

"Lovely cottage with an amazing view. The host thought of everything including a well stocked pantry in case you don’t get groceries before you arrive. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly recommend it to our family and friends."
