"The room was modern and spotlessly clean, although compact; kettle, beverages, hairdryer and ironing board provided, along with a good supply of coat hangers in the wardrobe. Very comfortable bed and an excellent shower. A slight downside was that the rear access (fire escape) and kitchen extractor system were right outside our window, so a bit noisy in the late evening and early morning. "Hotel is cosy and warm on entering. Log burners burning. Our evening meal was average in my opinion. My steak baguette had onions that were Luke warm, as were the beans at breakfast. Breakfast took an age to arrive. Our room was nice except for paint peeling from a chimney breast I think. Overall it suited our needs for 1 night. Set in breathtaking scenery."

"Chris, checked us in, and helped us up with my bag and got my daughter a duvet. That was great, as well as the fine full English breakfast. The bathroom fan was dirty and inefficient. There weren’t flannels or anything but 2 liquid soaps. Instructions for how to turn on the shower would have been useful, and no dead giant spider in the bathroom. Parking was not that easy to do, which led to me taking a chance the following morning and getting fined."

"Patrick and his wife were very welcoming, the property is dated but comfortable and clean and very reasonably priced. The surrounding area is a short walk away, with some nice pubs, restaurants (with gluten free options), shops and a Tesco etc... The only thing that would have improved our stay would have been some comfy chairs or small sofa in the room as I personally struggle watching TV in bed, due to health issues, but other than that it was a pleasant stay."
