"The quality and size of the “apartments” (they’re basically houses, it’s great) is phenomenal for the price. To have a private back deck, many air conditioners, a kitchen, a nice bathroom, FOUR sets of sliding doors.. it was great. Friendly cats run the grounds, par for the course in Europe. Parking is a little tight and it’s in a quaint area of the island but those very small “negatives” are so heavily outweighed by the friendliness of staff, 24 hour pool and big clean rooms that it’s barely...

"We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa das Hortencias! Although our time there was wet and windy, we found lots to do. From hiking to shopping, to exploring or spending quiet time indoors, we all found entertainment. The house was well supplied with kitchen equipment and we made good use of it all. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms worked as they should. In total, a very good experience. "

"Our stay at Hotel Verde Mar & Spa in Ribeira Grande was a great escape. The location is fantastic, nestled by Monte Verde Beach and close to a charming little town that’s fun to explore. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, we enjoyed the amenities, especially the indoor pool and sauna, which were perfect for relaxing. The staff really stood out—they were incredibly helpful with booking activities and ready to assist with anything we needed during our stay, which made the trip run smoothly. Breakfast was another highlight—everything was fresh and delicious. And while the ocean views from the restaurant and pool added a lovely touch to the experience, the overall atmosphere was peaceful without being overly flashy. It’s a solid choice for a laid-back stay in the Azores, balancing comfort and convenience well."
