"Beautiful cabin in the woods, very clean and serene. Nice road near the cabin for long walks. "

"The amenities of the house were as stated. The location of the property is not accessible without an offroad vehicle. The road is dirt, big bumps and ruts, and its hard to find because there is no cell service. The house is noce if you can handle all the stairs. Great place if you want aquiet, private, retreat type vacation."

The woodstove kept us nice and warm, and everything about the home worked well- from the well appointed kitchen to the lovely soaking tub super comfy beds. Plenty of firewood, great entertainment options ( movies music huge screen!) And access to cute mountain towns and glorious hikes! "The host, Ali, was great and accommodating. Thank you! He responded to questions quickly. After our stay there in early August, we agreed with the other reviews that it got too hot inside during the day without air conditioning. But the evenings did cool off and there was a supply of fans. Our biggest concern was that the cleaning service used perfumed laundry soap and cleaning products that were pretty strong smelling. "this is a large, tranquil property very near the entrance of portola redwoods state park. there are 3 cabins, one occupied permanently in the front by a friendly and kind man ,Michael ( and his mom),who are keeping an eye out on everything. just behind the front cabin, there is a large 3 bedroom cabin which was our base for the park, along with a tiny ,but cozy cabin that was behind it, with plenty of room to stretch out for everybody. "Ben Lomond is a small and lovely spot in the Santa Cruz mts. The house has plenty of amenities and is tucked among the redwoods. Plenty of fabulous hiking nearby. Very quiet."
