"Amazing views & room was very nice. Only negative I have is when trying to get some ice for drinks from bar staff was almost impossible. Location is great for the view & main town is not too far, but need to climb heaps of stairs to get there from hotel & difficult to get parking close to the main centre. "

"We stayed at the Ninfa Hotel at the end of November for a couple of nights. The staff here are engaging and dedicated, a very friendly and accommodating welcome. We had a guided tour of the facilities which are recently renovated and upgraded and it is all highly impressive. I recommend trying the restaurant - the food and attention to detail is superb. The inclusive breakfast provides choice and enough to set you up well for the day ahead. I cannot fault the experience, just wish we had stayed...

"The villa itself is stunning, lovely pool area and grounds and staff really great, friendly and helpful. The apartment we stayed in was okay - we knew it was in the basement of the villa, but it was very dark. We had booked it as it came with a kitchen and perhaps an oversight on our part but there was no oven, the fridge was tiny and a real lack of cooking utensils, it was very basic and meant we did not really cook while staying despite having wanted to. "The setting of the hotel is beautiful; however, the hotel is not particularly equipped to deal with international guests. My experience in August was anything but relaxing with screaming Italian children at the beach, unattended and unsupervised by their parents. "Wonderful find for a one night stay. Pros were the pool and pool area, close to. Lucca proper, clean and large room, and excellent air conditioning. Cons were that there was no breakfast even though they're listed as a B&B, no room safe and a shower that worked well. But even with these minor cons, I would totally stay again. Yes the rooms are older but no matter. The staff were excellent, bed was comfy and did I mention how much I loved the pool!? Thank you for a great stay. "

"We loved everything about Relais San Lorenzo. Daniela is a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble. The building is beautiful and dates from the 17th century, but everything is in top condition and works really well. The location is absolutely perfect. Very highly recommended. This was our first time in Lucca and we loved the city. We hope to return and will definitely stay in Relais San Lorenzo again!"

Unfortunately, the drawback of the area is that the beaches are mostly fully reserved for the entire season by Italians from the city and so it is almost impossible to get a place in any of the beaches even or of peak season"

"We were in the annex across the road - simple small touches like checking our key worked on arrival so we didn’t get locked out or have to go back to reception, amazing breakfast and the happy hour drinks and snacks are a lovely touch. Second stay at this property and it didn’t disappoint- we will return."

"This was an extremely easy property to find. The location is very close to the old city wall which is a walkable path. The staff was helpful, when we needed some food stored in a refrigerator. The kitchen staff provided a very nice breakfast daily with many options that suited both American and European tastes. Breakfast cappuccinos were delicious each day. "

"Albergo Celide is a lovely place to spend your Lucca vacation. It's comfortable and quite with wonderful breakfast and nice spa. It's moments away by foot from the entrance to the walled city. Anna was delightful and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She even booked two dinner reservations for us. "
