"The place has amazing views over the river. The room as clean and tidy. Breakfast had a small pre-order selection, but it was tasty and felt like local produce. The only downside was that the room felt cold and damp without any heating avaliable, but they do provide an extra thick blanket over the bed. "

"The Ecolodge is a brilliant place to stay. Nice pool, great rooms, free bike hire. Hong and her family were super helpful arranging tours and onward travel, not to mention answering many daft questions! Thanks for a great stay!!"

"Excellent location to enjoy Phong Nha caves. Very friendly hosts serving good food and great accommodations for the area. Be sure to take advantage of the properties bicycles to enjoy the local village. "

"Fab stay. Helpful from start to finish. We had breakfast. Delightful simple breakfast which was super cheat. Laundry completed and transfers organised. It was a brief stay for one night but loved this area so much we wished we stayed longer. Limited tourism which is right up my street but plenty to do in the day and night "

"DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS: The Son River House is without question the worst place I’ve stayed. There is no staff on site besides a confused old Vietnamese man that sits in the courtyard sometimes. I tried to check in 3 times and nobody was there. Ended up waiting 2 hours to check in. In my “suite” was 3 beds, 2 of which had dirty sheets and pillows. The bathroom didn’t work. Shower head only had a few “holes” that sprayed water. Toilet was broke and had previous waste in it. "Our host Wah couldn't have been more hospitable and friendly. The room was airconditioned on arrival, the bed was very comfortable and room clean and spacious. We had bicycles to use to meander into the main city via a quite back road. Wah helped us with booking tix for the car and our bus journey to our next location. Definately loved loved this stay."

Set amongst beautiful, lush green hills and farmlands, this farm-stay is by far the best place to stay in Phong Nha, away from all the noise and bustle of this very small town.
