"This was a last minute booking wanting to get away from snowy weather and my daily routines in the northeast. Emotions by Hodelpa was a great choice because of the all inclusive amenities plus quite good food choices including the main dining area and more exclusive restaurants like Amici (that I thoroughly enjoyed). The staff were always greeting us with ‘Hola’ and answering questions in multiple languages. It was a toned down and relaxing week for my spouse and me. What I truly enjoyed was the private pool (shared only with 4 rooms on the first floor). It was private, clean, and convenient to walk out my sliding glass door and pop into the pool multiple times per day. The location of this resort is about 3 miles to the historic center of town. I took a private tour to get the full story from a local driver. On another occasion, I walked to the Jumbo store (kind of like Walmart) about 2 miles away and then took a taxi back to the resort. The beach is cleaned daily from seaweed and refuse left over from late night parties or brought up from the ocean. Evening entertainment was free and quite fun. Okay, I over-ate but didn’t over-imbibe, not that the temptation wasn’t there. Back to the gym to lose those 5 extra pounds I put on. I’d recommend this place above many of the other choices in Puerto Plata."

"The staff was incredibly friendly and always ready to help. The day and night entertainment, along with social gatherings, made for a fun and lively atmosphere. There’s a wide variety of food and drinks available almost 24/7, catering to different tastes. While the rooms could use some renovation, the overall experience is fantastic. The beautiful beach and accessible pool add to the charm, making it a great relaxing place. Overall, it’s definitely worth it!"

"The main and probably the only thing that I did not like was the water pressure and the fact that warm water lasted a few seconds. I had to give my 3 year old cold showers after being in the beach and pool all day. The food was ok but very repetitive. Some food had flavor and other tasted like cardboard. Outside of that the entire place was super clean and staff was very attentive. Be careful with the vendors by the beach if they think you don’t know they will over charge you on things. The store in the place was also super expensive. A small kids candy toy was priced at $17 dollars. Something that cost in Florida $2 at a gas station. But I honestly cannot complain. I was able to go to all the bear by resorts that lifestyle has and use any pool other than VIP. Check in was easy and it ver all I would go back for sure. "

"The staff does so much to make sure the stay is great. We have gone to Gran Ventana for 16 years and love it. We had no water due to a pump issue in town and the staff was lugging buckets to help flush toilets and make it so it was barely noticeable. The staff works so hard! no water was not in their control, but they did great to accommodate the situation. Beaches are great. The food is amazing! There is enough shade or sun depending on your preference. Rooms are clean and stocked daily. A great worry free vacation!"
