"This is our favorite hotel! Beautiful lobby and public areas, big rooms, amazing infinity pool area (we felt like we were at a private country club!) with full bar and food services, and a separate jacuzzi area, and full gym. My wife had 2 fantastic massages at a great price, and a VIP discount, along with free drinks (Expedia VIP program)! The included breakfast is fantastic, with full omelette bar, typical Dominican food like Mangu (with fried cheese and fried salami!!)!many tropical, fruits, breads, and pastries, and a lot more. The location is very central in Santiago and easy to get around but, the best part is the staff. The friendliest, most courteous, and efficient staff in any hotel. We’re always greeted with a smile, and “what can I do for you next?” My wife has family in Santiago, who are very happy to put us up for the time that we were there, but instead, we spent nine nights at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante. Comfort, and all amenities, this is the standard of what a 5 star hotel should be. "

"We had a wonderful stay at Viva Heavens. Our room was spacious and had balcony. Food and drinks were decent. The main dining buffet does open late (6:30) so if you like to eat early this isn’t ideal. The beach area was clean and had plenty of loungers and had the option of being in the shade or in the sun. Only down side was a couple of nights we were awoken by people yelling and partying at 2:00 in the morning and the staff didn’t seem to take notice or care. We also noticed some guests would place their t-shirts/ towels around the pool area to claim a spot then go to the beach or the dining area so that no else could sit there. This limited the seating around the pool. Overall great stay and good value for the money. "

"Lovely, but too many "buy this" vendors on the beach. Also, not all amenities were available as indicated...asking for a $50 USD deposit to play pool. We would return only because the staff were very nice and its not a crazy party place."

"This property is small compared to others we have been to in Punta Cana. It was exactly what we wanted though, great beach, great food and drinks, wonderful staff. If you want a lot of activities, this might not be the place for you but they do offer some. There is just a very small gift shop on the property but there is a whole mall full of little shops right outside the front gate."
