"What a gorgeous location with exquisite facilities. The owner was extremely helpful, going out of his way to give us a private tasting and tour of his balsamic vinegar production. I want to return and stay longer. I highly recommend!"

"An amazing place to stay if you want to experience Italy’s past. The staff is very accommodating and the restaurant very good. I felt lucky to find this place to stay. One little thing to know before booking is that the access is a little bit of an adventure in itself. "

"Set out on a ridge with far reaching views across to the mountains but close enough to Barga to walk in for a late afternoon gelato. "

"This is the perfect property for a large, multi generational family. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by Valerio. We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool, the huge garden, the play park and the rural location. Dinner cooked for us by Valerio’s family was superb."

"Beautifully renovated house with lovely dog walks around the area. The local restaurant (walking distance) is also excellent and you can buy gifts at their farm shop. We'd happily stay again. The breakfast staff were delightful and attentive. "

"After a curious approach. The owner met us there and showed us around. It was a very quite, beautiful mountain apartment. Details outdoors were evident and comfort inside was great. This is just a peaceful beautiful place which capped of our italian tour perfectly. To return i would stay at least 3 nights. It is worth it. The area is stunning with many things to do"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and Luca and Samantha (and all her family) made us very welcome. Don’t miss eating at their restaurant, Le Macine del Monte Croce, down the road. The house is very comfortable with everything you need and the views are stunning. Walk along the path that runs behind the house. Lots to explore in the Garfagnana region and we had a day in Florence too. An easy day trip if you use the Villa Constanza park and ride off the motorway - take the tram into the...

"The house is an absolutely stunning location. Breath taking views every morning, even if the weather did always play ball. There are some lovely areas to walk in and explore nearby and a few very nice local restaurants but these can get booked up very quickly. Even when it was raining we enjoyed our stay as the dense forests provided plenty of cover and there are excellent trips to caves and nearby cities such as Lucca and Barga that are easy drives. The roads in the valley are quite narrow...
