"Took wife, daughter and her friend. It was a long way from the nearest autoroute but a lovely drive through France. It took about 7 hours from Caen (will fly to Bergerac next time) The farmhouse was beautiful, clean and spacious. Comfy beds, well-catered kitchen, good WiFi. Nearby (1k walk) Monpazier had everything we needed, 2 x Boulangerie, v important, lots of bars, especially the Bier de la Bastide. The Michelin Star Edward I hotel and restaurant is worth every penny but don't bring young...

"The house is beautifully restored…better in person than in the pictures. Rachel snd Fred were very helpful hosts and stay nearby. The whole experience was wonderful - beautiful house in a charming village with option to take daily walks. Other villages just 5-10km away with grocery stores and restsurants- notably Les Arques, Catus and St Médard. Great water sports at Le Lac Vert in Catus. The house also has beautiful gardens and pool with stunning views of neighboring countryside."

"Karen’s Le Chouettes is a lovely rural property that was perfect for our family. We stayed in the cottage and we found it so well laid out with plenty of privacy for everyone but many common areas to enjoy each others company. We had a few days in April where the kids were able to enjoy the pool. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were of top quality. Plenty of thick towels were also provided. "Stayed for 5 days with our children 12 and 15. House and pool beautiful, immaculate. So peaceful. Everything you need. The only thing I would say is that we didn’t realise from the listing that two of the three bedrooms are outside of the main house on another level down some outside steps, although still attached to the house. This could affect a family if their children were much you her than ours. Great stay and would definitely return."
