"I don't want to say how lovely it was at this gite as I want to be able to book again when we're next in the area! Very friendly owners, around to help if needed otherwise they leave you alone. Huge flat gardens with lovely flowers/trees and shrubs. Plenty of garden furniture and places to sit and eat out, sunbathe or chill in the shade. "Our family (10 of us) loved our stay. The house was really well equipped and such an interesting building. There were lots of places to sit and relax whilst the kids could play games or swim. The night skies are magic to gaze at from the terrace. Lots of historical places to visit too. "

"If you read the reviews, everything positive that was said is true. Literally set in the middle of a vineyard, this is the most quaint, rustic, and accommodating setting a group could hope for. The pool (which is shared with anyone who might be staying at the adjoining house) was a relief, as it was hot when we were there (June 15-28). "La maison Martin Gendre est décorée d'objets rares et typiques du Queyras, ce qui rend le séjour particulièrement agréable. Le hameau de la Chalp est situé au carrefour de nombreux sentiers de randonnée. C'était très bien, nous avons pu faire des randonnées en partant directement à pied de la maison. Nous avons vu des marmottes ! Et nous avons fait de la luge d'été juste dans le village voisin. Highly recommended."

"A wonderful stay. The property is spotlessly clean and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay very comfortable. It is the best equipped place we have ever stayed. There are numerous places to relax inside and out. You really are spoilt for choice. Everything was explained thoroughly and the lovely owners were on hand to help if needed. They even kindly returned something I had left behind in the post. The grounds are beautiful surrounded by vineyards and the pool area is lovely....

The house is spacious and well-equipped and the private and partially shady terrace with its beautiful trees and wisteria-covered outdoor dining space was a godsend on the hottest of days.
