"It was great having a designated parking space at the hotel in a town with limited parking. Unlimited choice of food for breakfast plus fabulous views from the dining room. Easily walkable into town. Perfect position for a Fowey holiday. The only minor downside was that the room window did not open very far, the room was warm and airless and the duvet was very thick and hot, therefore we did not sleep very well. It would have been perfect on a cold winter’s night, but not ideal during the very mild nights when we were there. "

"The staff were really really helpful and friendly both at check in and in the restaurant. The room was clean and contained everything you could need, however the bed was like a trampoline. Also at 12.30 in the morning there was terrible banging and thumping for nearly half an hour which woke us up and kept us awake. I think it was from a nearby room where they were thumping on the door. Also some of the other guests were not well mannered. While I appreciate that this is beyond the hotel’s jurisdiction it did detract from the quality of the stay."

"The hotel is an older structure and has been modernised throughout to a very high standard with evidence of new work present around the lifts and some common areas; the rooms are probably getting ready for a refresh as whilst it was really clean there are chips out of the bath and the shower/taps could do with being renewed. The staff welcoming us at check-in were friendly and top class; that said the bar staff and breakfast staff were all really, really excellent in every way and they make the hotel absolutely perfect. The beds were comfy, the family room nice and quiet too, the breakfast was great and everything perfect which is why I love a Crowne Plaza "

"This lovely old hotel is perennially reliable and perfect for walks to the Barbican, the city centre and the Ferry terminal. No need to book a taxi and they are willing to hold one's luggage for the return. The receptionists are wonderful and the bar/lounge very cosy. "
