"Our first impression of Le Carre Noir was breathtaking. The drive up was dramatic, the view spectacular. The staff were cordial but we were offered no help with our bags and the key card system was down when we arrived. "We had a lovely week here with our 2 young children, the house was equipped with everything we needed. The kids loved the dipped area by the fireplace and that was their play area/ house! Wonderful views for breakfast from the balcony and amazing views from the roof terrace in the evenings when it had cooled. "We booked for a week but left after 3 days. We are tough but not that tough. A neighbour was burning leaves 24/7. We couldn't go outside or open a window. It hurt our eyes and throats. Regine said she called but nothing changed. We gave her an opportunity to make good when we told her we had to leave and find a hotel but nothing was offered. Otherwise, the kitchen was well supplied, there were 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels, thin pillows and a no-frills bed. This is my first negative review...
