"Beautiful location "

"Room was comfortable. No view from room. Pretty area with gardens around walkways. Not a lot of outside seating areas. Most rooms are a walk uphill a ways. Not many have close parking. Trails uphill behind resort. 4x4 drive to upper parking was in good shape and looked good enough for 2 wheel when dry. Dining was fine, with good service. Trout was good, though I think it was better for lunch up the road at the next cafe. Bar area has seating and fire. Happy hour 3-5. The resort seems to do a lot of large bus groups. Dining room was full with 4 tables of 10-15 people and just a handful of couples at other tables."

"I loved the food and staff. Bed was a bit firm for me but room was beautiful. Only downfall is do not follow the map expedia has linked to this hotel it is the wrong location! Hopefully expedia can update this for future tourists "

"Great location "

"This is a wonderful lodge for birding. You will see Resplendent Quetzals on the early morning tour (thank you to the guide!), and many other special species in Costa Rica right in the gardens and at your cabin windows (Long-tailed silky flycatcher and volcano hummingbird, for instance). This is a beautiful property, well maintained and quiet. You do have to walk on narrow pathways up and down a hillside to the cabins. I stayed in the double room one night and a superior cabin the second night. I recommend the superior. The double room was closer to the restaurant, reception, and other people, and very cold with only one space heater and older construction. The superior is larger with 2 space heaters and newer construction so it heats more efficiently. The view was amazing, as were the birds and sounds of the jungle! Breakfast was not included in the price and I found $13 expensive for a couple greasy eggs and bacon. I wasn't there to eat though. The birding was spectacular. I drove about 40 minutes to Batsu Garden in the Rio Savegre Valley and found species I had hoped for including Volcano and Scintillant hummingbirds. Thank you! "

"Amazing view from every individual lodge. This is an amazing property with a large natural areas with hiking trails. The trail levels would be moderate and difficulty, but it is really nice to be with trees and natures. Excellent services, staff are warm, friendly and helpful. Excellent dinner menu with very reasonable prices. Humming bird feeder brought nice visitors. The bird and nature guide (Carlos) booked through the lodge was excellent. We saw quetzal birds twice!!! "

"This hotel absolutely blew our minds. The 30 minute drive off road was very beautiful and at first made us a little nervous but quickly realized with 4 wheel drive its very easy and fun! Once we got there... We were blown away. The staff. The rooms. The food. THE PRICE. 10/10. The natural pool area to me might be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my entire life and literally put tears in our eyes. The amount of hiking, exploring, and outdoor activities could fill an entire week. There are only 5 rooms so you feel like the entire property is yours and the staff knew our names only after 2 days. I will forever be amazed with this place and am even looking at building a villa there. GO THERE. Before the secret is out. "

"Beautiful spot!"

"This was my second visit one of the best hotels in the Savegre Valley for birders. The accommodations are excellent (including heating in the rooms & hot showers!), with the mountain-view villas being especially good for birders. A major bonus is a wonderful bird-feeding area attracting lots of hummingbirds & frugivores. The only drawback on this visit was the disappointing meals on our first evening - I hope just a reflection of temporary staffing problems. Fortunately excellent restaurants at Lauraceas and Savegre are close by. "
