"Check in was a nightmare. Family was supposed to meet host at airport with a cot - but he was no where to be found. Directions to villa were very scattered but finally arrived met by housekeeper and shown around the villa. It was old and in need of some updating but very comfortable for our party of 10. Beds and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Pool was lovely although it was still warm enough to swim in the sea. All in all a wonderful holiday."

"Beyond expectations, location, location, location of course with that front row seat view of Etna across the bay but the property itself was much larger than expected from the photos. "Photos are accurate. A comfortable rustic house with a lovely garden and pool that provides a secluded peaceful haven for a relaxing time. Surrounded by orange and olive groves. Nice cantina in local village and other restaurants 20 min drive away. Key tourist sites in the east of the island are 1-2 hrs away. You will return home very rested. A warm welcome from Franco, the owner, and Francesca who is a very attentive guide for the visitor, always available on WhatsApp, and speaks great English....

"It was beautiful, however weather was a bit cold and we expected to be warmer. You need a car for sure in this area as it is not close to anything. Carmelita was always accessible and helpful. It also needs some mirrors for ladies. Otherwise beautiful."

"We had a wonderful stay at Villa Gioia (2 adults, 1 child). Riccardo was a fantastic host, even leaving us a delicious bottle of wine to welcome us to the villa. The villa itself was spotless with everything we needed. We particularly loved the pool. It was a short walk to lovely beaches and has a kids playground just outside. I would absolutely recommend this property."

It’s bigger than it looks. It was about a 15 min drive to Syracuse and Ortigia that offers many restaurants and places to see. I would fully recommend this villa / host. "
