"This house was a wonderful place to stay. There was no air-conditioning in this place but it was not needed. The wind coming off the sea was sufficient to cool the house and sometimes at night it was cold. The sounds of the waves crashing against the cliffs was the best "white noise" to fall asleep or read your favorite book. The place is stocked with the tools you need to cook with. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. The place is conveniently located close to the Volcano National Park so you can vist the Volcano. We did get to see the eruption during our stay. Several hiking trails beaches located near by. Kona is about two hours away but is worth the drive for the beautiful scenery. Mauna Loa is beautiful. The owners are very nice and are easy to reach if you have questions. Don't feed the chickens! Lol"

"The property is just as described. The views are amazing. The location is unique and eclectic. We enjoyed eating and listening to music during open mic at a bar in Pahoa. We also were able to spend a Wednesday night at Uncle Roberts bar and market enjoying the music and atmosphere that area is known for. The trip to the Volcanoes National Park is an easy hour drive and well worth the trip. This is a great location if you're looking for some relaxation and discovering Island life independent of commercial excursions and tours."

"Had an “erupting”experience. Spent time in National Park and saw quite a fireworks display right from Volcano House overlook Pāhoa met all of our dining needs and Uncle Robert’s was as advertised. Will stay again. "

"The space was organic and lovely for my partner and I. The night skies were so beautiful due to the lack of light pollution and the property had access to the ocean across an interesting lava flow. Definitely a unique and wonderful location. People in the community were very friendly as well. Would recommend this location for adults wishing a romantic, peaceful, beautiful environment. "

"This property is as described. The hosts and her husband were helpful when we checked in making sure we were able to enter (even though we already had been given a code). Melanie was patient with my many questions prior to arrival. The property is kind of off the beat and path, but only about 45 minutes to an hour from Volcano National Park and was a good spot to explore Hilo and Rainbow Falls and Apoka Falls and the Tropical Botanical Gardens. It isn't a fancy place, if that's what you are looking for, this isn't it. It is comfortable and being in the rain forest is unique. The screened porch is a nice place to hang out. The bathroom is tiny, but functional. Some complained about the frogs croaking at night and keeping them up. The frogs did not bother us, but the rooster woke us up. It was just a fun and different experience and a GREAT value for the money. I would recommend this place. "
