"Lovely clean place to stay and friendly accommodating staff! The fireplace and access to water/wine/teas/coffee was such a nice touch and made for a cozy and relaxing night. I stayed in the Sankaty Head room and the only complaints are this room is next to the front door so you will hear people coming/going and I found the mattress very lumpy and uncomfortable. So very welcoming from the beautiful Victorian design and remodeled rooms to the wonderful staff with whom we have become friends, and the delectable hot breakfasts every morning! And in the sleepy town of Pacific Grove, so very relaxing! Perfect place for a composition retreat! And just blocks from the waterfront with crashing waves and sea life!!"

"The room was quaint but funky. The headboard on the bed squeaky loudly and there were a lot of steps within it which we had to be very careful to not trip on in the dark. There also was no TV, which we hadn’t noticed when we made our booking. That said, it was very well located to enjoy the Monterey Peninsula and reasonably priced for what you got."

"Friendly and attentive staffs. They only offer coffee, no breakfast. You will have to walk out of your room to use the microwave. They have a very cute outdoor patio which I enjoyed so much for the little fresh air in the morning. It’s a convenient location that is just only a few minutes driving from Carmel downtown. My room was pretty small, lights are dim. Parking is limited space but you can park on the street. Other than that, I have a good time here."

"Location is walkable to many restaurants ( within 1-2 miles). Hotel is very charming and service is wonderful. Rooftop rest/bar. Is fun."

"Loved the room except the heating/automatic fireplace was a little frustrating to figure out. We asked the maid for only towels on day one and then didn’t get a visit from her again (we stayed 4 nights) Maybe she misunderstood There was what sounded like a large gathering with music and loud bass that lasted til midnight all 4 nights we were there. I don’t blame the hotel, but wouldn’t stay there again for that reason."
