"Casa Pacifico was perfect for the amount of time we stayed in Pompeii. Our room was modern, clean, spacious, with a great bathroom/shower. The Towel warmer was a huge plus (we used it to dry socks and shirts we handwashed. Wouldn't leave unattended.). Owner gave great directions and was communicative. Breakfast voucher allowed us to have delicious fresh pastries and coffee every morning at the cafe downstairs. You do need to haul your luggage up a few flights of stairs, so plan accordingly. Great view of Mt. Vesuvius from the balcony on the property. Also, within a 5 min walk to back entrance of Pompeii Ruins. (We used this back entrance, and ticket vending machine and recommend it. Tour guides will try to tell you it's not an entrance to sell you a tour. The main entrance is a 23 minute walk!). Logistics: No UBER or "hail" taxi service. You need to have an app that solicits private cars or taxis. Plan ahead if you make reservations at restaurants far away, sometimes they offer pickup/drop off (some free, some for a fee, but you need to tell them way in advance.) Tour companies will call a taxi for you, but it's really expensive and they take forever to get there (30 minutes). We didn't have the opportunity to hike the volcano, but when we come back, we will be staying at Casa Pacifico. Thank you!"

"I would definitely stay at Hotel Montestella again. It is centrally located in Salerno in that if you walk in one direction, you reach the "Old town" with the restaurants and shops, Cathedral and beach part in 10-15 minutes and if you walk in the other direction, you reach the train station in 8 minutes. If you go "down" you reach the "strip walkway" in 2 minutes. The staff were helpful and allowed us to check in early at 1230 and let us check out late at 1130. There is also a nice lobby with couches that we hung out at because our train didn't leave till 1600 and the staff told us it was no problem to hang out as long as we needed to. The breakfast was really good--coffee machines made cappuchinos and lattes, and there were scrambled eggs, sausages, an assortment of pastries, bread, fruit, and cereal. I also appreciated that the yogurt was refridgerated--we stayed at several hotels in Europe and yogurt was sometimes left out at room temperatures. The only thing to note about this hotel and it's not their fault--there is construction on the road in front of it. The earliest we heard anything was 0830 and the latest was 1730, so it did not bother us at all, but thought I would mention in case people are sensitive to noise during those times. I would definitely stay here again and recommend Hotel Montestella to anyone staying in Salerno."

"It was my first time going to Pompeii and I booked this hotel for its proximity to the closest gate to the amphitheater. The hotel looked nice online but I didn’t know what to expect as I booked an economy room. It was amazing. I had a wonderful view off the balcony, the bed was super comfortable, the A/C worked amazing and the room was super cute. Also the breakfast was insanely good plus the breakfast area has views of Pompeii and Vesuvius. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. It was a perfect day. I just arrived at my next hotel and had booked a premium room and I was sad to see it doesn’t even compare. Stay here if you can! You won’t be disappointed. "

"There are not enough words to describe this beautiful paradise. From the moment we walked through the doors we were greeted with warmth and smiles. Nidid was professional, welcoming and extremeley helpful. The entire staff of the resort are fabulous. Antonio knows how to make a great cappuccino! The winery was top notch in food, wine and service. Thank you to Emanuele, Eugenio and Enzo for a wonderful wine tasting experience. Mary gave us the best golf cart tour of the property. The property is a stunning rural oasis that is a 10 minute walk to the centre of the modern city of Pompei. We loved the pool area with an amazing view of Mt Vesuvius. This was a great choice to spend the last 5 days of our trip to Italy. We will be back!"

"This hotel is beautiful, the nicest one I’ve seen in this area after walking around a bit. Check in staff were awesome. There is road construction next door which makes getting to the hotel and then getting to the parking area from the hotel a bit cumbersome. Otherwise everything is wonderful. "
