"The property is sited on a farm. It is well away from an unsealed road (no traffic noise) and from the farm house. I think I may have heard a chain saw for a short while. In case you are worried there are no farmyard 'smells'. Check in and instructions on how to find the property were great. The manager replied promptly to my questions. I saw no one else, but I could have walked to the farmhouse if there was a major problem. The property is a converted shipping container, that is light, airy and was easy to warm up. The kitchen and shower were good. The view was lovely. I have no criticism what so ever. Like most of the Canterbury beaches south of Christchurch are NOT for swimming. In hindsight I should have taken my surfcaster rod. "

"The Grey on Black Morel was adorable. We had our own individual unit with full sized refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and all cooking and serving pieces. We checked in after hours, but the owner lives on the property and assured us that a late check in was no problem. Once we arrived she walked us through the unit to make sure we knew where everything was. The unit itself was super clean and comfy. We were treated to two reclining chairs to watch TV in the evening. The bed was comfortable and we had electric blankets to warm it up before going to sleep. We were given a later check out with a friendly smile and a “no worries.” I would highly recommend this motel for a longer or short term stay."
