"Our second year here. Superb location right on the sand dunes only 10 mins walk to Merlimont Plage beach. Perfect holiday with our Dog. From Merlimont (which is very quiet and not a lot going on) it is a 90 min walk on the sand to either Le Touquet or Berck sur Mer. Also the property manager, Michael was very attentive. He responded straight away when we had difficulty finding the UK TV channels and came out and reset the satellite for the TV."

For example, there was a beautiful marble setting but the heating was not on and there was no clear way of controlling the temperature in the room which was in a cold downstairs location. On a previous visit in a cheaper room we had an iron provided , a functioning coffee machine and milk and a larger table. This was a warm cosy room.The coffee machine this time did not work. "We had a great time staying at the gite in the lovely grounds of the chateau. The house is rustic but full of character and we really loved staying there. The grounds were very good for our young children, helped by the fabulous weather we were lucky to have. They enjoyed playing ball games and sitting in the deck chairs enoying their dinner. It was very peaceful. The hosts were also very kind and accommodating and very easy to reach. The beaches in the area are also fabulous. We had lots to do...
