It is as described, a unique home set high up the bluff from the river and literally carved out of the stone. While there, we took the train into Porto (an easy trip but skip the CP website and buy your tickets on the train) for a day and also spent an entire afternoon on the terrace enjoying the sun and the gorgeous...

Very well equipped and comfortable, and in a great location to explore the area - but note the roads are very windy and hilly so it can take a while to get places! The swimming pool is great with a fantastic view, and we enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the river. The owner Maria gave us some good tips on places to visit and made us very welcome. "Great location and accommodation however need more drawers and cupboards for clothes in main house - we had to live out of suitcases. Beds very comfortable but not enough easy chairs in main room."
